Start your day right - Eat cake for breakfast!

Why is breakfast the most important meal of the day?
Answer: A healthy breakfast refuels your body and replenishes your blood sugar (glucose - brain food), giving you the energy necessary to start a new day. Studies show that people, who eat breakfast, especially a healthy breakfast, are more likely to have better concentration, be more productive, and have more strength and endurance.
While eating breakfast is important for all ages, breakfast is especially important for children and adolescents. According to the American Dietetic Association, children who eat breakfast are more likely to have better concentration, problem-solving skills and eye-hand coordination. They may also be more alert and creative, and less likely to miss days of school.
A healthy breakfast should consist of choices from a variety of foods to include fruits, vegetables, dairy, protein, and of course grains! Our focus at The Grain Market is to provide you with recipes and the tools to create healthier alternative than the typical fast-food breakfast which often include cereals that are laced with refined sugars and colorful floating objects (scary dehydrated marshmallows), toaster tarts that consist of a host of ingredients many of which I cannot even pronounce. Not to mention the fact that they will not expire for years! Foods are supposed to expire.
We live in a busy world and we often opt for quick and easy and compromise our health. The Grain Market can show you how to provide quick and easy meals as well as good and healthy.
